Tips for success in Health Careers programs admission

  1. Get qualified to be admitted. You are "qualified" to be admitted when all of the program admission requirements for your intended program have been completed. Applicants are admitted on a first-qualified, first-admitted basis. The programs begin each Fall term. Application date may be used to determine placement on the qualified waitlist if necessary.

  2. Help us communicate with you. We will only contact you through official communication channels, which include your phone number, your address, and your HawkMail (HFC email). It is very important that this contact information remains current and accurate. Please review the records maintenance instructions to update your contact information. If we are unable to contact you, we will not be able to admit you to an HFC program. Reach out to your advisor or success navigator if you are experiencing delays or if you have questions along the way.

  3. Look for admission permission from your director. Final admission decisions, including permission to begin your program and enroll in your program courses, comes from each program director in the Spring semester prior to the start of Fall classes.

  4. After completion of any course admission requirements, take your support classes / general education classes next. In most programs, due to the intensity and number of credit hours required for health careers program completion, we encourage students to complete as many of the required support courses/general education courses as possible prior to entering your specific health career program. Please talk to your success navigator to make sure you are on track.
